Spencer was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands, Amsterdam mission which provided a great learning experience. Spencer completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Therapy where he eventually got his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Spencer currently works as a physical therapist and specializes in neurologic rehabilitation. Spencer and his wife, Mary, have four beautiful children who bring great joy to their lives.

Spencer discovered North Star as he was trying to understand the roots of his same-sex attraction and seeking to find peace. He has found healing and connection from attending the various events that North Star has offered. Spencer has helped plan North Star Conferences since 2015 and is excited to serve as President of North Star International.  Navigating the challenging waters of same-sex attraction and staying strong in the Church has been one of the greatest blessings of his life and brought him closer to his Savior, Jesus Christ.
